MIDGLEY FAMILY RECIPE FOR HUMMUS

1 16 oz cans of chick peas(aka Garbanzo beans) ... Drain & save liquid
1/3 cup sesame seed paste (aka Tahini)
5 cloves garlic
1/2 teas salt
1/4 cup lemon juice1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp cumin
5 drops hot sauce (Franks Hot Sauce)

Combine all ingredients into a blender/Food Processor. Add only enough liquid
from the drained peas to arrive at desired consistency.

MIKE ELLIS is our "sunny morning" weather reporter. Mike and his wife Cathy are busy with three young daughters (an 8 year old and 6 years old twins). He grew up in northern Vermont (St. Johnsbury), where he helped his father in the family paint store even though Mike is color blind (true)!

Mike updates the weather conditions continuously throughout the morning on Sunny 102 to help you and your kids get dressed and plan the day. He's fun to talk to, has a great sense of humor and communicates the weather forecast clearly to make it easy to hear during your hectic mornings.

BIG MIKE'S DAILY BLOG

January 1, 2008 ... Hey, it's 2008! This is the brand New Year, and as a New Year's resolution I resolve to write a daily blog so my fans can get a glimpse of what it's like to be me! Today I have the day off.

January 2, 2008 ... I woke up around 4am as usual and drove to the station. Searched around for some left over Christmas cookies. None left as all were eaten by Mike Ellis. Got home at noon and took a nap.

January 3, 2008 ... I got up again and drove to the station. I wore dark blue socks to go with my dark blue shirt. Even though nobody seemed to notice, it felt good to be coordinated. I got home around 1:00 and took a nap. I had a burger for dinner (yum) and went to bed at 8:00pm.

January 4, 2008 ... I haven't received any feedback regarding this blog ... is it worth my time?

January 5, 2008 ... Helloo? Anybody reading this?

January 8, 2008 .... This is the last entry.

Here's a photo of me and my pal Joe Whiting at last summer's Syracuse Area Music Award's Show at the Taste of Syracuse (I was the emcee) .... we're on the SAMMY's Executive Board and in the SAMMY Hall Of Fame (both of us inducted in 1996).

Patty #1:
Pecan Burger:
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
6 slices bacon
1/2 cup chopped pecans
3 tablespoons chopped parsley leaves
2 tablespoons grated onion
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, softened

Patty #2:
Butter Burger:
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 pounds ground beef or ground chuck
4 tablespoons butter, cut into small cubes
4 ounces American cheese, cut into 6 portions

Special Sauce for the "Big Mike":
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup yellow mustard
1/4 cup ketchup
Hot sauce
2 tablespoons finely chopped pickled jalapenos

Christmas past: The Solvay KAZOO KREW visited the studio!

FREDDY CRITTELA'S SUICIDAL RICE PUDDING

1 cup LONG GRAIN RICE1 cup SUGAR (note: always equal amounts of rice and sugar)

1 quart WHOLE MILK

1 pint HEAVY CREAM

2 capfuls of PURE VANILLA

1 tsp KOSHER SALT

Put ALL THE ABOVE ingredients in large pot ... heat to simmer and stir with wooden spoon for around 20-25 minutes.

Then take 4 EGG YOLKS .... temper a lttle with rice mixture (that is, add a little bit of the rice/milk mixture and stir it into the egg yolks) ...

Pour EVERYTHING (mixture and egg yolks) in a serving dish (we used a 2 quart pyrex glass bowl) and stir slowly.

While it's all still quite warm, mix in about 3 to 4 ounces of WHITE CHOCOLATE CHIPS and stir slowly, blending it all together ... let sit.

Sprinkle CINAMMON on top.

Set mixture aside for a while, then chill in refrigerator ... Serve in small bowl; this is a very rich dish, but to make things worse add some fresh whipped cream .... congratulations, you've taken a month off your life but it was worth it, yes?
