An Important Message

“You’ve no doubt heard about people who have been abducted and had their kidneys removed by black-market organ thieves.

My thighs were stolen from me during the night a few years ago. I went to sleep and woke up with someone else’s thighs. It was just that quick. The replacements had the texture of cooked oatmeal. Whose thighs were these and what happened to mine?

I spent the entire summer looking for my thighs. Finally, hurt and angry, I resigned myself to living out my life in jeans.

And then the thieves struck again……

My butt was next. I knew it was the same gang, because they took pains to match my new rear-end to the thighs they had stuck me with earlier. But my new butt was attached at least three inches lower than my original! I realized I’d have to give up my jeans in favor of long skirts.

Two years ago I realized my arms had been switched. One morning I was fixing my hair and was horrified to see the flesh of my upper arm swing to and fro with the motion of the hairbrush. This was really getting scary – my body was being replaced one section at a time. What could they do to me next?

When my poor neck suddenly disappeared and was replaced with a turkey neck, I decided to tell my story.

Women of the world wake up and smell the coffee! Those ‘plastic’ surgeons are using REAL replacement body parts – stolen from you and Me!

THIS IS NOT A HOAX – This is happening to women everywhere every night.

I thought this was too ‘important’ not to pass on.

P.S. Those same thieves just came into my closet and shrank my clothes!

How do they do that????”

Time To Go To School

Posted by Big Mike on September 05, 2011

I have to admit I wasn’t the easiest kid to wake up when I had to go to school.  My mom would start with a little poke, a push, sing a “good morning” song, clap her hands, sing a little louder, play a harmonica, blast a bugle and finally shake me and shout: “MICHAEL!! YOU GOTTA GO TO SCHOOL AND GET SMART. GET UP!!!”

I grew up in a housing project in the Bronx and the walls were thin so I got to hear what was happening next door.  My neighbor Jay Feldman had his bed right on the other side of the wall (sometimes we would tap at night to communicate).  He always got up without any commotion or crazy yelling.  He loved school, was a terrific student and eventually became a doctor.  Today Feldman probably sleeps as late as he wants and I get up at 3:00AM to get ready for my morning show, the wake-up show.  Kind of ironic. Well, as we begin another school year I wish all kids, teachers and workers the best!

It’s That Time Of Year…

Posted by Melissa Midgley on August 25, 2011

Each year, I would always look forward to the Great New York State Fair. My all time must see and do was to go through the train that is parked on the tracks as part of the family fun zone (although when I was a kid it was not called that). I knew it meant back to school and the fall season, but those two things excited me. I have such amazing memories of attending concerts at the Grandstand and Chevy Court (although it was Miller Court when I was a kid).  The summer I entered high school I was thrilled to be hired to work at the Cheese Booth in the Dairy Building (and just to clear the air now, I DID NOT cut the cheese, I just sold it! ). Many life long memories and friendships were made on those grounds during those 12 days. This year I am super excited to be a part of 3 events. If you are out and about I would love to see and meet you. Stop on by, say hello and cheer on Team Sunny 102. Enjoy everyone, see you at the fair!

Friday, August 26th 3:00PM~ Dairy Products Building ~ I will be the celebrity chef at the Beef Cooking Demo booth.

Monday, August 29th 10:00AM~Pavilion towards the back of Chevy Court~ I will be “Team Sunny” in the annual Dairy Day Milkshake Competition. Last year we won best presentation!

Tuesday, August 30th~ 10:00AM~ Pavilion towards the back of Chevy Court~ I will be “Sizzling Sunny 102” in the Burger Bonanza Competition.  We have been working hard to create an award winning burger; I will post the recipe after the contest is over for anyone who is interested!

Steve Needs A Better Photo

Posted by Big Mike on August 23, 2011

Have you seen the photo of my good friend Steve Kelley?  It’s his “official” picture on this website. I think it is a self-portrait, taken with his cell phone.

What’s up with this?? Steve is one of the nicest guys I have ever known.  He is warm and friendly, and would never say anything nasty, but in this photo he looks like a thug trying to decide if he will break your legs, your arms or both. He looks like a ruffian here and I know he is not.  He deserves a better photo.

Don’t You LOVE Mashed Potatoes and Gravy?!!

Posted by Big Mike on August 18, 2011

I do!!

I suppose if you know me that’s not shocking news. It’s my kind of comfort food – Yet I do try to eat healthy when possible, even at the Great NYS Fair. And though there’s no way I will buy the 1500 calorie deep fried donut-burger, here’s something I will not be able to pass up:

The HOT BEEF SUNDAE!   A bowl filled with hand-mashed buttery potatoes surrounded by slow-roasted fork-tender roast beef topped with savory beef gravy, sprinkled with Cheddar cheese and finished with sour cream and a ripe red cherry tomato. According to Jean of the NY Beef Council it has only 308 calories making it a healthier choice at the fair. Costs 5 bucks in the Dairy Building.
